Bass is good!
Punchy on care about you, with the de-de de-de-la bit hanging out. Bit dirtier on control.
Have a listen .. oh you can't ;P

I think the singing sounds spot on there! The ride cymbal sounds a bit mangled in that section. Sure a better or different mp3 conversion will do the trick.

Alright guys,
So, it turns out this computer does have a sound card. Just been to poundland to buy a set of earphones and had a listen. Things are sounding sweet - not entirely happy with my guitar playing tho, I definitely need to tighten things up on Care About You.

Okay, if anyone has any comments about the recording please leave them here. Listen on different stereos and volumes before making concrete opinions about levels.
I like to think of these three aspects to it: -Our playing (can only record what we played) -The recording (how did it capture what we played) -Production (making it sound how we want. levels.)
This is how it sounds to me: +Levels seem to work well for each song +Reasonably representative of a live sound, we can recreate this! +Dynamics are there (e.g. end of control) +Instrument sounds are generally representative +Vocal tone is fairly accurate
-Background noise at start of CAY -Crash cymbal lacks body -Bass Tom inaudible at end of Control -Our most obvious mistakes are audible. Maybe some be tidied in from other takes, others maybe no e.g. Coming in together with punch after breaks on CAY
Conclusion: The recording is generally accurate and results are credible given that we're not seasoned pros.
Be really interested to know what everyone thinks so please don't hold back. Phil would really appreciate some honest feedback from us.

I generally agree with what you have to say about everything.
I would say though that the vocal is a bit (too?) low in the mix, especially on Control (which has a bigger guitar sound).
Also, the guitar sound doesn't change enough for me between the verse and chorus on Control - I would have liked a bit more of the blues driver in the mix on the chorus.
I don't think we would be able to drop sections in from other takes as we didn't play to click - maybe this is something we could do in the future?
But, overall, I think it is a good representation of our sound and Phil has done a good job with it.

Sorry, I meant `y` as in `yes, I would love to record some more my good fellow`.
I think it is great practice at playing under pressure, and I would love good recordings of, at least, `My World` and `In Your Eyes` (once we have it sorted)
xx
